Verification of Competency (VOC) – Scaffold VOC Assessments in Victoria

The Scaffold Tool and Training Company Pty Ltd, RTO Code: 22226 –

What is a Scaffold VOC?

A Verification of Competency (VOC) is a method of assessment used to confirm a worker’s ability to use equipment or perform tasks safely and competently, as per current industry standards. It is commonly required by employers, principal contractors, and site safety officers to ensure compliance with WHS legislation.

Our scaffold VOC assessments are designed to confirm a worker’s competency for basic, intermediate, or advanced scaffolding levels in line with their existing High Risk Work Licence (HRWL).

Who Needs a VOC?

  • Workers returning to the industry after time away
  • Employees changing employers or work sites
  • Site-specific safety requirements
  • Annual or periodic competency reviews
  • As part of internal safety system verifications

What’s Assessed in a Scaffold VOC?

Our qualified trainer assessors conduct VOCs covering:

  • Review of existing HRWL (Scaffold – SB, SI, SA)
  • Assessment of practical skills and knowledge relevant to the licence class
  • Familiarity with Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and hazard control procedures
  • Understanding of scaffold plans, anchor points, and Australian Standards (AS/NZS 1576)
